Linz is situated on one of Europe's most important waterways, the Danube, which is linked to the Rhine and the Main. Linz is a popular stopover for cycle tourists on the Danube bicycle path from Passau to Vienna.
The Blue Danube Airport of Linz is located outside the city - there is a bus from Linz to the airport and there is a train from Linz to Hörsching station, where you can order a shuttle service to the airport.
